Description
Sugar Bowl Resort is seeking a warm, detail-oriented Hotel Front Desk Agent to be the welcoming face of our mountain lodge - the first hello and the last goodbye for every guest who stays with us. You'll handle check-ins and check-outs, guest charges, and reservations for both hotel rooms and property rentals accurately, efficiently, and courteously, all while helping us promote our services and create an experience guests want to come back for. With a professional, welcoming presence, you'll identify and respond to guest needs promptly and thoughtfully to ensure every stay is a great one.

Situated atop beautiful Donner Summit, Sugar Bowl has a storied past with ties to Austrian ski culture, Hollywood and Walt Disney. This special community helped bring skiing to "sunny California" since December 1939. Since then, it continues to attract adventurous winter sports enthusiasts alike.
Who You Are:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous hospitality experience or training is a plus, but a great attitude and willingness to learn go a long way
• A natural team player who thrives in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment
• Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English
• Comfortable with basic arithmetic and handling guest charges
• Quick to understand both written and verbal direction
• A warm, confident phone voice and excellent telephone etiquette
• A genuine passion for hospitality and creating great guest experiences
• Familiarity with the surrounding area, so you can offer guests real recommendations
• Previous property management system (PMS) experience is a plus
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Available to work varying shifts - mornings or nights, including weekends and holidays
What You'll do:
• Manage spa booking requests and schedule guest appointments accurately and efficiently
• Address guest concerns with professionalism and empathy, resolving issues with appropriate solutions while keeping your manager informed
• Answer phones and manage reservations for hotel rooms and property rentals
• Process deposits, cancellations, and guest correspondence
• Handle guest check-ins and check-outs with accuracy and a smile
• Assist guests with concierge-style recommendations and requests
• Relay messages and respond promptly to guest needs
• Greet every guest warmly and help set the tone for their stay
• Address and resolve guest concerns with patience and professionalism
• Generate reports and maintain accurate guest records
• Respond to emergency procedures as needed
• Promote the hotel and resort to help maximize room revenue
• Help maintain clean, welcoming common areas
• Support other hotel departments as needed, pitching in wherever the team needs an extra hand
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand and remain on your feet for extended periods behind the front desk
• Ability to lift, carry, and move items weighing 20-50 lbs, such as luggage and supplies
• Manual dexterity for computer/PMS use, phone operations, and paperwork
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Comfortable navigating snowy or icy walkways typical of a mountain resort in winter
• Sufficient visual and auditory acuity to monitor the lobby, greet guests, and safely operate phone/PMS systems
