Job description

Job Title:Kitchen Supervisor

Organizational Structure:

Department:Food and Beverage

Supervision: kitchen associates

Pay Structure:Paid Bi-weekly

Position Summary:

The Kitchen Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring food quality and consistency, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Working closely with the Sous Chef, the Kitchen Supervisor helps lead the culinary team, supports line staff, and ensures smooth meal service during all shifts.


Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and coordinate activities of kitchen staff during assigned shifts.
Ensure that all food is prepared according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines.
Assist the Sous Chef in ordering, inventory control, and maintaining proper stock levels.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in compliance with health codes and company policies.
Monitor food waste and assist in implementing cost-saving measures.
Support training and onboarding of new kitchen team members.
Ensure all kitchen equipment is operated safely and maintained in good working order.
Step into line or prep roles as needed to ensure smooth service.
Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to coordinate service.
Uphold food safety and hygiene standards at all times.


Requirements:

2+ years of culinary experience, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role.
Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food preparation, and sanitation standards.
Ability to lead a team in a high-paced, professional kitchen environment.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
ServSafe Certification (or ability to obtain).
Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.


Preferred Qualifications:

Culinary school or vocational training a plus.
Experience in hotel or large-volume operations preferred.
