WEEKEND MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
Associates are paid weekly!
SUMMARY
A Maintenance Technician is essential for maintaining the hotel and surrounding areas. The role performs routine maintenance tasks, troubleshoots, and repairs mechanical systems, landscaping, and irrigation. The role ensures compliance with safety standards. Responsibilities include maintaining mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, performing preventative maintenance, and responding to maintenance issues promptly to minimize downtime for property and facilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Maintain and repair carpet, wall covering, furniture, painted surfaces, change burned out light bulbs and other cosmetic repairs in guest rooms, and public areas
  • Maintain and repair equipment in laundry, guest rooms and public areas
  • Repair irrigation and sprinkler systems
  • Maintain pool and pool area. May include a hot tub
  • Keep adequate parts, materials, and supplies on the supply cart
  • Inform manager on job status and project status
  • Communicate parts and material needs to the manager in a timely manner
  • Attend all mandatory meetings
  • Report all unsafe working conditions
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the General Manager, Area Director of Maintenance, or Area Manager of Maintenance
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
  • Constantly standing/walking on stairs, tile, and rubber mats covering tiles, linoleum, concrete, padded carpet, marble, gravel, etc. Constant repetitive motions of stooping (bending at the waist), twisting (knees waist and neck), crouching (bending at the knees), and reaching (overhead/extension).
  • Frequent climbing of ladders, steps, stools, etc.
  • Frequently lifting/carrying equipment and supplies weighing an average of 5-50 pounds.
  • Occasionally lifting/ carrying equipment and supplies weighing an average of up to 100 pounds
  • Frequently pushing/pulling of equipment carts, equipment, and supplies weighing an average of 5-50 pounds
  • Occasionally pushing/pulling equipment carts, equipment, or supplies up to 150 pounds

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Working with and exposed to fumes, chemicals, vibrations, humidity, cold, heat, dust, liquid chlorine, refrigeration gases, chillers, pumps, etc.
  • Constant operation of power tools, electric motors, compressors, generators, power sweepers, company vehicle
  • Must adhere to the company's safety standards and procedures - safety guards, appropriate attire for the activity, safety goggles, ear plugs, gloves, inhalation devices, aprons, using proper lifting tech
  • Maintain security of work area and equipment while maintaining the level of safety required and exhibited by the hotel and OSHA requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • 1-3 years' maintenance experience in a commercial or residential environment preferred.
  • Light carpentry and knowledge of paint and wallpaper
  • HVAC or plumbing or electrical skills
  • Certification in pool operation preferred
  • Meet minimum age requirements
  • May need a valid driver license with acceptable driving record
  • Must pass criminal background check
