Area Director of Information Technology (IT)
Please Note:
Hospitality experience is mandatory. No relocation package or work permit sponsorship will be offered.
Minimum Requirements (Must Have):
• 3-5 years of experience as an IT Director or Area IT Director is required
• 8+ years of progressive IT experience, including multi-property or enterprise environments
• Prior experience in hospitality, luxury hotels, or service-driven environments strongly preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Strong knowledge of hotel systems (PMS, POS, access control, CCTV, etc.)
• Experience with cybersecurity, network infrastructure, and cloud technologies
• Proven leadership, project management, and vendor management skills
Position Summary
The Area Director of Information Technology is responsible for overseeing all IT operations across multiple properties, ensuring reliable, secure, and innovative technology solutions that support business operations, guest experience, and compliance requirements. This role provides strategic leadership while remaining hands-on with systems, vendors, cybersecurity, and operational support.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Planning
• Develop and implement IT strategies aligned with company and property goals
• Plan and manage IT budgets, capital expenditures, and technology roadmaps
• Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and guest experience through technology
Multi-Property IT Operations
• Oversee daily IT operations across all assigned properties
• Ensure high availability and performance of all systems, networks, and applications
• Standardize IT policies, procedures, and systems across properties
Systems & Infrastructure
• Manage hotel systems including PMS, POS, payroll, HRIS, timekeeping, access control, CCTV, and guest-facing technologies
• Oversee network infrastructure, servers, cloud platforms, telephony, and Wi-Fi systems
• Ensure proper system backups, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans
Cybersecurity & Compliance
• Ensure data security, network security, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
• Monitor and mitigate cybersecurity risks, including user access controls and incident response
• Conduct regular audits and security assessments
Vendor & Project Management
• Manage relationships with IT vendors, service providers, and contractors
• Lead technology projects including system upgrades, implementations, and property openings
• Negotiate contracts, SLAs, and service agreements
Team Leadership & Support
• Lead, mentor, and support on-site and regional IT teams
• Provide guidance, training, and performance management
• Serve as escalation point for critical IT issues
Executive & Departmental Support
• Partner with executive leadership, HR, Finance, Operations, and Security
• Provide regular reporting on system performance, risks, and initiatives
• Support special projects and cross-departmental initiatives
