The role often involves working closely with management, staff, and suppliers to develop and promote sustainable initiatives that enhance both environmental responsibility and guest experience.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in hospitality sustainability, and why are they important?

To thrive in Hospitality Sustainability, you need a strong foundation in environmental science, sustainability practices, and hospitality management, often supported by a relevant degree or certification such as LEED or Green Key. Familiarity with sustainability reporting tools, energy management systems, and environmental assessment software is typically required. Strong project management, communication, and problem-solving skills are essential for driving initiatives, engaging stakeholders, and fostering a culture of responsibility. These competencies are vital for creating effective sustainability programs that improve operational efficiency and enhance a hospitality organization's environmental impact.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals in hospitality sustainability roles?

Professionals in Hospitality Sustainability often face challenges such as balancing operational costs with the implementation of eco-friendly initiatives, overcoming resistance to change among staff, and navigating evolving environmental regulations. Our Passion is Food!
At Bon Appetit Management Company we are committed to two things, great food and outstanding service! We do not have standardized recipes or central commissaries, instead, our chefs and managers are expected to stay abreast of current culinary trends and bring cutting edge food into their cafes. We are a restaurant company that operates in contract food service. That means you will have the freedom to be creative, take risks, and truly shine. We are committed to our staff growing, trying new things, and learning all that they can. Our rapid growth and breadth of accounts translates into exciting opportunities for our people!
