Job Description

SmartRent, an exciting and rapidly growing technology company, is seeking intuitive and driven individuals with project management experience in construction and/or tech to lead large-scale smart home conversion projects. With our extensive presence in major markets across the country, this role offers exciting travel opportunities. Our success hinges on our proactive and responsive approach, as well as the satisfaction expressed by our clients. As a crucial member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth execution of projects while keeping a close eye on budgetary constraints.

As a Field Project Manager you will work closely with internal SmartRent teams, property managers, leasing agents, maintenance technicians, and residents on a daily basis to ensure installation projects are completed efficiently and effectively. Your responsibilities will encompass managing contractors, communicating with property management staff, providing technical expertise, overseeing field operations, conducting training, ensuring quality assurance, and upholding the SmartRent brand's standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct site walk-through for implementation planning;
  • Communicate and enforce scope of work as well as set and manage schedules for contractors;
  • Lead and manage installation projects to ensure deadlines are met;
  • Train, manage performance, provide coaching/feedback, and analyze data to maximize team performance and productivity;
  • Manage receipt and delivery of project materials.
  • Estimate time, cost, and logistics for installation projects;
  • Manage all project documentation;
  • Provide additional coaching and guidance to subcontractors as needed throughout the project lifecycle;
  • Oversee and resolve escalated Customer/Resident/Contractor concerns;
  • Manage ongoing communications with the client's site team to proactively implement schedules for on-site projects, identify pain points and optimize the SmartRent experience;
  • Foster continuous communication and collaboration with sales, field managers, support, product team, and developers, including sharing feedback and making recommendations for improvement;
  • Develop and maintain process efficiencies to enhance documentation and streamline operations;
  • Evaluate staffing requirements, compliance, and projected needs to maintain high-quality standards and make necessary adjustments to the installation project; and
  • Travel (up to 20% of the time) to site locations across the country to manage projects effectively: weekends, nights, and holidays may be impacted.

Required Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Self-motivated with natural leadership abilities;
  • Background in residential construction management;
  • Hands-on experience training customers on software systems;
  • Technical support experience with Enterprise Hardware/Software or SaaS Solutions;
  • Previous experience in face-to-face client meetings;
  • Ability to de-escalate situations and resolve conflicts effectively;
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends;
  • Ability to travel extensively, up to 80% of the time, managing projects in various locations across the country;
  • Proficiency in writing about technical subjects in a clear and engaging style;
  • Enthusiasm, patience, and organizational skills to handle multiple client requests effectively; and
  • Strong work ethic and meticulous attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • General understanding of HVAC systems;
  • Experience in Property Management, Customer Service, or Hospitality; and
  • Technical knowledge of smart home devices and installation processes

Salary: $70,000.00 annually. This role may also be eligible for bonus, commission, or other variable compensation.
