The Assistant Director of Sales is responsible for supporting hotel sales operations, maximizing revenue opportunities, maintaining strong client and community relationships, and ensuring operational excellence through effective communication, organization, and administrative support.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
This description is a summary of primary responsibilities and qualifications. The job description is not intended to include all duties or qualifications that may be required now or in the future. The Hotel operates 24 hours a day and 7 days a week, so operational demands require variations in shift days, starting times, and hours worked in a week.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of market position, occupancy, ADR, banquet and food and beverage revenues, overall GOP, pricing and rate structures, sales strategies, yield management, booking trends, and future hotel planning.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of competitive markets and industry trends that may impact hotel performance and sales strategies.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of hotel operations, departmental capabilities, and limitations that may affect sales and revenue generation efforts.
• Implement sales policies and procedures as developed through the annual Marketing Plan.
• Conduct personal sales calls and assist in generating new business opportunities for the hotel.
• Develop creative marketing techniques and sales initiatives to increase hotel visibility and revenue.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with local Chambers of Commerce, Convention and Visitors Bureaus, community organizations, and business partners.
• Achieve and exceed individual and team goals established through the annual Marketing Plan.
• Maintain knowledge of rooms merchandising strategies and periodically evaluate and revise program parameters to maximize revenue opportunities.
• Achieve budgeted revenues and expenses while maximizing profitability related to hotel sales operations.
• Participate in the preparation of annual hotel budgets, forecasts, and business plans.
• Maintain proper procedures for credit control, financial transactions, and security of financial assets.
• Respond to and resolve guest requests, complaints, and questions in a courteous, timely, and professional manner.
• Utilize office, accounting, and hotel management software accurately and efficiently.
• Prepare statistical reports, presentations, and operational documents as needed.
• Accurately maintain and report departmental and operational information.
• Assist with various office and administrative functions as required.
• Maintain compliance with all Driftwood Hospitality Management and hotel policies, procedures, and standards.
• Attend required meetings, training sessions, and hotel functions as assigned
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
The Hotel may consider equivalent combination of acceptable education and experience providing the knowledge, skills and abilities cited below, when applicable
• Must possess comprehensive knowledge of all hotel departments and operational functions.
• Must maintain knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local health, safety, and legal regulations.
• Must possess strong mathematical, organizational, and computer skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education, hospitality training, or related experience preferred.
• Ability to timely obtain any required licenses or certifications.
• CPR certification required; First Aid certification preferred.
• Additional language ability preferred.
• Occasional travel may be required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Minimum lifting and pulling of 20 pounds.
• Standing, walking, pushing, bending, stooping, upward reaching, and manual dexterity required.
• Ability to hear, write, type, and communicate effectively.
• Ability to work varied schedules based on operational demands, including weekends and holidays.
• Other duties may be assigned.
