Summary: JSL is looking for a lead server to join our dining services team. Candidates should have a positive attitude and enjoy working in a fast paced environment. They should possess the ability to effectively manage several tasks at once while maintaining a welcoming and friendly attitude. Flexibility and dependability are essential. This position is paid wages and tips are not accepted.
Great Hours! Monday - Friday. No late evenings or weekends.
Position Overview: The Dining Room Lead Server is responsible for assisting in the day to day operations of the dining room in a senior living facility. They serve residents' and guest meals in a friendly, service-oriented manner. Assures that beverages, soups and busing are completed according to proper procedures and resident meal needs are met based on requests and diet restrictions. The Lead Server along with their team, are responsible for working as the runner, the serving of plates (entrees and desserts) clearing of resident plates throughout the meal, monitoring for help needed in other areas, and the proper sanitation procedures followed in clean up.
Essential Duties: Wait Staff/Server
  • Communicate in a positive manner with staff and residents.
  • Ensures residents/guests have an enjoyable meal.
  • Ensures the assigned job is carried out in a professional, friendly manner.
  • Communicates appropriately with supervisors, dining room staff and guests; listens effectively.
  • Ensures proper production and presentation of all food items and provides maximum appeal and freshness.
  • Maintains kitchen sanitation and equipment cleaning schedule.
  • Is able to maintain a clean professional appearance, appropriate for working with the general public.
  • Must be able to demonstrate basic food preparation and service knowledge.
  • Seeks to exceed resident expectations by engaging them in conversation if appropriate and anticipating their needs.
