Job description

Holyoke Medical Center Laboratory has an exciting entry-level position available for applicants interested in diagnostic medicine. The applicant must share a passion for our lab mission statement, which is working collaboratively to ensure quality results for every patient, every time. The job responsibilities are to assist laboratory staff, clinical staff and patients in diverse roles within the clinical laboratory. The Laboratory Assistant will register and receive specimens, enter specimen data into a software system, prepare samples for further laboratory analysis, perform COVID-19 /Flu/Strep molecular testing, transport specimens to other labs and clinical departments. Responsibilities include: customer service, training, answering phones, entering precise and accurate data, adherence to laboratory regulations and performance of testing according to standard operating success.
REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma and previous work experience required. Bachelor's degree in Biology, Microbiology or Health Science preferred. Previous experience in a healthcare setting or medical laboratory experience strongly preferred.
