Kitchen Manager

My Neighbor Felix – Colorado Springs, CO

Pay: $56,000–$67,000 per year

My Neighbor Felix is looking for a passionate, hands-on Kitchen Manager to help lead our back-of-house team. This is a working management position where you'll spend time leading by example—cooking on the line, assisting with food preparation, coaching team members, and ensuring every plate meets our standards.

If you're an experienced kitchen leader who enjoys being in the action, developing people, and helping run a high-volume restaurant, we'd love to meet you.

What You'll Do
  • Lead daily kitchen operations while actively working on the line and assisting with food preparation as needed.

  • Cook, prep, and expedite food while maintaining recipe, quality, and presentation standards.

  • Train, coach, and develop back-of-house team members through hands-on leadership.

  • Ensure all food is prepared safely, consistently, and to My Neighbor Felix standards.

  • Assist with scheduling while managing labor costs and maintaining productivity.

  • Order, receive, and manage inventory while controlling food costs and minimizing waste.

  • Monitor portioning, product quality, and kitchen efficiency.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe kitchen while ensuring compliance with all health department regulations and company policies.

  • Assist with opening and closing procedures and ensure the kitchen is ready for successful service every day.

  • Partner with the Executive Chef and General Manager to achieve operational, financial, and guest satisfaction goals.

  • Foster a positive, accountable, and team-oriented kitchen culture.

Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, Lead Line Cook, or similar kitchen leadership role.

  • Strong cooking skills and the ability to work multiple stations during service.

  • Experience with scheduling, ordering, inventory, food cost, and labor management.

  • Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills.

  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.

  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
