An Information Technology and Systems Director who excels in this role will:

  • Partner with hospital executives, clinical leaders, and enterprise IT leadership to align technology strategy with organizational priorities, patient care objectives, and operational goals.
  • Direct all hospital IT operations, ensuring secure, reliable, and highโ€‘performing infrastructure, applications, cybersecurity, and endโ€‘user support services.
  • Lead enterprise technology initiatives at the facility level, including EHR optimization, digital transformation, cybersecurity modernization, and infrastructure improvement efforts.
  • Strengthen cybersecurity posture, regulatory compliance, and technology governance by ensuring adherence to HIPAA, HITECH, enterprise standards, and risk management best practices.
  • Drive operational excellence through IT service management, process improvement, analytics, and performance metrics that enhance system reliability, clinician experience, and operational efficiency.
  • Build strong crossโ€‘functional partnerships with clinical, operational, and financial stakeholders to deliver technology solutions that improve patient outcomes and support business performance.

What weโ€™re looking for
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field required; equivalent combination of education and 7+ years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirements.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive IT leadership experience, including at least 3 years within healthcare environments supporting hospital operations, multiโ€‘site organizations, or enterpriseโ€‘level systems.
  • Proven expertise managing hospital IT operations, including infrastructure, clinical applications, EHR platforms, cybersecurity, service delivery, and technology support functions.
  • Strong understanding of healthcare regulatory requirements and industry standards, including HIPAA, HITECH, cybersecurity frameworks, and IT governance best practices.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex technology initiatives, operational improvements, digital transformation efforts, and crossโ€‘functional projects in fastโ€‘paced healthcare environments.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong partnerships across executive leadership, clinical teams, operational departments, and enterprise IT organizations.
  • Experience managing IT budgets, vendor relationships, contract negotiations, and resource planning while driving operational efficiency and financial stewardship.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, staff development, and the adoption of emerging technologies that enhance patient care, operational performance, and organizational outcomes.
