Mishawaka, IN โ€ข On-site

$14.50 - $18/hr

Full-time

Job description

Make a Difference Behind the Scenes.

At Emergency Veterinary Care Centers (EVCC), every role matters—and our Hospital Care Assistants are no exception. They help keep our hospital clean, organized, and ready for every emergency that comes through our doors.

If you're looking for meaningful work, enjoy staying busy, and want to be part of a team that helps save pets' lives every day, this could be your place.

Who We Are

Emergency Veterinary Care Centers was created by veterinarians, for veterinarians—and for the communities they serve. Founded by 36 local general practice veterinarians (many of whom are still actively involved today), EVCC was built to support the veterinary community by providing trusted emergency-only care when primary care veterinarians are closed.

Our Mishawaka location is our third location and is open 7 days a week, 24/7 - holidays included because emergencies never stop.

But what truly defines EVCC isn't just what we do—it's how we do it.

WE

  • Lead with compassion.
  • Support one another without ego.
  • Take pride in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming hospital.
  • Communicate openly and professionally.
  • Believe every team member plays a vital role in patient care.
What Life Is Like at EVCC

Emergency medicine is fast-paced, unpredictable, and rewarding.

While our doctors and technicians care directly for patients, our Hospital Care Assistants make it possible for them to do their jobs efficiently. Every stocked treatment area, freshly cleaned kennel, and organized workspace helps us provide the highest level of care when seconds matter.

No two shifts are exactly the same, and you'll never spend your day wondering if your work made a difference—it will.

Whether you're exploring a future in veterinary medicine or simply looking for a meaningful career with an incredible team, EVCC is a place where you can learn, grow, and contribute from day one.

Your Role as a Hospital Care Assistant

As a Hospital Care Assistant, you'll help ensure our hospital is clean, organized, and prepared for every emergency. You'll work alongside veterinarians, veterinary technicians, assistants, and client service representatives to keep our hospital operating smoothly while helping provide excellent care for every patient. We are looking for passionate people who love animals, looking for full time and can either work swing or overnight shifts!

What You'll Do
  • Laundry
  • Clean and sanitize kennels
  • Restock treatment areas and hospital supplies
  • Perform animal restraint
  • Vacuum and mop throughout the hospital
  • Clean public and staff restrooms
  • Maintain clean, safe, and welcoming public spaces, including the lobby and outdoor areas
  • Assist with basic animal husbandry
  • Help keep the hospital organized and ready for incoming emergencies
  • Support the veterinary team wherever needed

No previous veterinary experience is required. It's all about your mind set!

If you're dependable, motivated, and eager to learn, our experienced team is excited to teach you. Between daily responsibilities, you'll gain exposure to veterinary medicine and learn alongside professionals who are passionate about mentoring others.

Who Thrives Here

We're looking for people who are:

  • Dependable and hardworking
  • Team-oriented
  • Organized and detail-focused
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment
  • Willing to jump in wherever help is needed
  • Passionate about animals and helping others
  • Excited to learn and grow
How We Invest in You

We believe people do their best work when they feel supported.

WE OFFER

  • Competitive compensation (depending on experience) including base and 401K match
  • Comprehensive health and wellness benefits that start on day one
  • Flexible work schedules to support your life outside of work
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) because we truly believe in TREAT YOUR SELF mentality
  • A BIG focus on learning and growing, we offer a continuing education (CE) allowance, so we are always delivering state of the art medicine to our patients
  • Mentorship and real career growth opportunities
  • And the little (big) things, like comfy scrubs and cool EVCC swag
If You're Looking For...

A hospital where:

  • Your work truly matters.
  • You're part of a supportive team.
