AREA15 is seeking a Fabricator with strong scenic and artistic fabrication experience to join our dynamic creative production team. This hands-on role focuses on the creation, installation, and maintenance of scenic elements, props, and environmental decor that bring AREA15's immersive experiences to life. The ideal candidate has a broad range of fabrication skills, a sharp eye for detail, and a passion for crafting imaginative, high-quality builds.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
  • Fabricate scenic elements, decorative props, and immersive set pieces using materials such as wood, foam, plastics, metal, and LED components per renderings.
  • Execute carpentry, scenic painting, light welding, sculpting, and detailed finishing work.
  • Operate shop tools and equipment, including saws, sanders, welders, hand tools, and other machines available in the shop.
  • Build structures using carpentry, welding, sculpting, and finishing techniques as required.
  • Collaborate with designers, artists, and production leads to bring creative concepts to life within project timelines and budgets.
  • Participate in installations, strikes, and repairs of scenic environments across the AREA15 campus.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace in compliance with company and OSHA safety standards.
  • Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure durability, aesthetics, and stability of finished pieces.
  • Track materials and communicate supply needs to management.
  • Support ongoing maintenance of permanent and temporary installations.
  • Troubleshoot and creatively problem-solve during fabrication and installation phases.
  • Support cross-departmental teams for special builds, prototypes, and custom installations.
  • Occasionally assist with live event or activation builds, both on-site and off-site.
  • Demonstrate ART! (AREA15's service standards) in every guest interaction.
  • Adhere to department and company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a professional, polished appearance in line with AREA15 standards.
  • Work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
  • Applicants must be 21 years of age or older
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Proven record of successfully adapting to new concept designs and innovations.
  • 8+ years of experience in scenic fabrication, theatrical or themed entertainment production, or related field.
  • Proficiency in metalworking, such as welding, cutting, and grinding.
  • Proficiency in carpentry, foam carving, scenic painting, and prop finishing.
  • Experience with paints, finishes, and texturing techniques.
  • Proficiency in working with a variety of materials, such as wood, metal, plastics, and composites, to fabricate, assemble, and finish scenic pieces that meet creative, technical, and safety standards.
  • Extensive knowledge of LED lighting integration
  • Intermediate knowledge in electrical systems
  • Advanced ability to interpret construction drawings, shop drawings, and artistic renderings independently.
  • Skilled with hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, creative environment and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs and work on ladders or lifts when required.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions including but not limited to extreme heat, sun exposure, wind, rain, extreme cold.
  • Ability to understand, speak, read, and write the English language.
  • Computer skills in Microsoft applications. (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)
  • Experience in using Project Management System, like Monday, preferred.
  • Availability for varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work in an environment subject to varying levels of noise, crowds, flashing lights, and smoke.
