In This Role You Will:

  • Perform mowing, trimming, weed control, and fertilizing of facility properties.
  • Plant trees, shrubs, flowers, grass seed, and pull weeds in the gardens and flower beds.
  • Trim shrubs and trees. Remove dead ones as needed.
  • Water grounds in dry season and as needed.
  • Sweep walkways and shovel snow.
  • Clean, scrape, and paint such objects as fences, benches, concrete walls, etc.
  • Repair, clean, lubricate, and stores equipment, tools, and fixtures.
  • Clean and maintain storage areas.
  • Participate in the preventive maintenance program as defined by the director of environmental services.
  • May be directed to supervise a work project to completion on outside grounds.

Shift & Schedule Details:

  • Full-Time Monday - Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm

Who You Are:

  • 1 to 3 years experience in landscaping and grounds maintenance.
  • Able to perform physical labor that requires bending, twisting, stretching, repetitive motion, pushing, pulling, and lifting and carrying objects.
  • Variation of sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time, specifically with the ability to adequately get into, sit in, and drive the community owned transportation vehicles.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers required to manipulate objects and use various types of vehicular equipment.
  • Physical stamina to lift, push, pull, carry, or move light to heavy objects as required to perform job duties i.e. bulk mail; bulk supplies.
