Home Run Inn is looking for enthusiastic, hardworking, and reliable Line Cooks to join our Back of the House Restaurant Team at our Darien Full Service Restaurant!


Job Summary: The Line Cooks will prepare ingredients, cook menu items to order, and ensure that meals are served with quality and consistency.


This job required weekend/evening availability, along with some weekdays as well. (4pm-close)


This job will cross train as a pizza maker down the line as well.

Responsibilities:

  • Read order tickets to determine amount and kind of foods and supplies to be packaged.
  • Fill individual serving cartons with portions of various foods and condiments.
  • Monitor quality of food and spoilage.
  • Refill and rotate stock as necessary. Assist in inventory counts and ordering.
  • Follow standard recipes for preparation of menu items. Prepare foods for cooking and assist other cooks as instructed.
  • Operate fryer, oven and other cooking equipment.
  • Ensure cleanliness of food preparation areas.
  • Stock and prepare necessary food ingredients and dry goods needed for food preparation.
  • Rotate perishable food items based on FIFO method of inventory.
  • Follow SOP's of food preparation adhering to specific weight, measures, portioning and safe food handling.
  • Prepare food quickly and efficiently to meet the HRI prep time goals.
  • Use kitchen and cooking appliances and equipment.
  • Follow safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Passionate about food and thrives in fast paced environments.
  • Constantly be able to lift, reach, bend and stoop.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
  • Frequently be able to safely lift bags, cases, and stack weight up to 50 pounds with assistance.
  • Basic understanding of Food Safety and sanitation practices.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age or older to operate Kitchen Equipment
  • Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends,and holidays. (4pm-close)
  • Food Handler certification. (Obtain within 30 days of being hired)
  • Safety shoes required prior to first shift.
  • Experience working as a Line Cook or similar role in a restaurant setting preferred.
