2nd shift - Production Control & Planning (PCP) Analyst
Location: Whitsett, NC (NCSC Plant)
Job Type: Full-time / Flexible
Position Summary
The Production Control & Planning (PCP) Analyst is responsible for end to end production planning, scheduling, and control activities to ensure efficient manufacturing operations and on-time delivery. This role acts as a key link between demand planning, shop floor execution, and supply chain functions by translating customer and forecast demand into executable production plans. The analyst monitors production performance, manages work-in-progress (WIP), and drives schedule adherence through data-driven decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Production Control & Scheduling
Develop, release, and maintain executable production schedules aligned with demand, capacity, and material availability.
Control production priorities and sequence orders to balance throughput, inventory levels, and customer commitments.
Monitor schedule adherence and make real-time adjustments to minimize disruptions and delays.
Planning & Capacity Management
Analyze production capacity, labor availability, and equipment constraints to support feasible planning decisions.
Identify bottlenecks and constraints, escalating risks and recommending corrective actions.
Partner with operations leadership to support short-term and mid-range planning horizons.
Work-in-Progress (WIP) Management
Track and manage WIP levels to ensure appropriate flow through manufacturing processes.
Analyze aging WIP, identify root causes, and work with cross-functional teams to improve cycle times.
Maintain system accuracy for shop orders and production status within ERP/MRP systems.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
Track KPIs such as schedule adherence, throughput, cycle time, and capacity utilization.
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production control reports and dashboards.
Analyze variances between plan and actual output, providing actionable insights to stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Collaborate closely with procurement, logistics, quality, and manufacturing teams to align execution with plan.
Communicate production priorities, schedule changes, and risks clearly to internal customers.
Support continuous alignment between planning, supply availability, and shop floor execution.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve planning accuracy, production flow, and inventory control.
Support lean manufacturing and operational excellence initiatives.
Assist in standardizing PCP processes and documentation.
Basic Qualifications
Education: Associates or Bachelor s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business Analytics, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Experience: 2+ years of experience in production control, production planning, or manufacturing scheduling.
Systems Expertise: Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP systems (e.G., SAP, Oracle, JobBOSS) for production control and planning.
Data & Analytical Skills: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, data modeling, and lookups (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).
Work Location: Ability to work on-site to support real-time production coordination.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong organizational and time-management skills in fast-paced manufacturing environments.
Ability to manage competing priorities and respond effectively to shifting production requirements.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence across operations and supply chain teams.
Experience supporting continuous improvement or lean manufacturing initiatives.
