We are currently seeking an Animal Health Technician to join our team in Montgomery, Texas. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with animals and is looking to build a rewarding career in animal care, veterinary support, or the life sciences.

What You'll Do

As an Animal Health Technician, you will play an important role in supporting the health, welfare, and daily care of research animals while ensuring all work is performed in accordance with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Quality Management System (QMS) requirements, and veterinary direction.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform daily and weekly wellness observations to monitor animal health and well-being.
  • Recognize signs of illness, injury, discomfort, or abnormal behavior and promptly communicate concerns to supervisors or veterinary staff.
  • Assist with routine treatments, immunizations, hoof care, deworming, and other animal care activities as assigned.
  • Support blood collection, serum processing, and animal handling activities while maintaining humane handling practices.
  • Assist with animal identification, inventory management, and recordkeeping.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of treatments, observations, immunizations, and inventory within company quality systems.
  • Clean, sanitize, and maintain animal housing, barns, equipment, and surrounding work areas.
  • Replace bedding, perform routine housekeeping, and support biosecurity and pest control efforts.
  • Assist with facility maintenance, landscaping, pasture upkeep, and other operational support activities.
  • Operate farm equipment, tractors, forklifts, skid steers, or similar equipment when trained and authorized.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors, veterinarians, and team members to support animal welfare and scientific operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational goals.
What You'll BringRequired Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience working with animals through employment, farming, volunteering, internships, or personal experience.
  • Ability to recognize when animals require attention and communicate concerns appropriately.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to following established procedures.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to learn new skills and work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) credential or coursework in Veterinary Technology, Animal Science, Agriculture, or a related field.
  • Experience working with large animals such as cattle, horses, goats, sheep, rabbits, or donkeys.
  • Experience administering injections, collecting blood samples, or supporting veterinary procedures.
  • Experience operating farm or construction equipment.
Physical Requirements

This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, pushing, pulling, and working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Candidates must be comfortable working around animals, cleaning agents, farm equipment, and power-washing equipment while following all required safety procedures and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
