Your Role:
The US Farm Animal Demand Planner role provides modeling and enrichment support to the Integrated Business Planner Lead, US, to achieve a quality financial and demand forecast for critical brands for the US Farm Animal team.
The US Farm Animal Demand Planner must provide continuity and market expertise for brand managers, and challenge assumptions based on broader knowledge. This individual must work closely with Brand managers, category leaders, supply chain, and finance as applicable to incorporate demand information, and manage the Demand Planning program at the Affiliate level.
Your Responsibilities:
  • Performs a consistent evaluation of new forecasting and complex analysis techniques, tools, and data sources to improve outputs.
  • Partner closely with US Farm Animal leadership to ensure implementation of the overall forecasting vision to enhance forecast accuracy, and development and implementation of additional analytical capabilities.
  • Interact with sales, marketing, finance, and supply chain leadership to understand demand forecast drivers and present relevant findings to senior leadership when required. Strong interpersonal skills are also essential to effectively interact with all teams, areas, and levels of business affecting the forecast process.
  • Maintain an environment open to change and innovation, achieving improvements in existing tools and anticipating innovative technologies to deliver best in class forecasting and to maximize effectiveness.
  • Demonstrate and develop the ability to influence across the organization, regardless of stakeholder relationship.
  • Maintain demand planning metrics per IBP (Integrated Business Planning) standards and make available for demand planning review and commercial teams.
  • Integrate feedback from Demand Reviews, Integrated Reconciliation Reviews (IRR) and Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs) as necessary.
  • Maintain and support demand planning activity. This task includes, but not limited to, the following:
    • Stewardship and accountability of maintaining the "US Farm Animal Master Forecast File."
    • Work with US Farm Animal Brand Managers on a monthly basis to consolidate the current demand plan, and align assumptions.
    • Perform analysis of macro-economic correlations and historic demand trends (industry, internal, market share, etc.).
    • Partner with finance to financialize the demand plan prior to demand review; highlight necessary gaps to address.
    • Ensure demand material is stored in appropriate online access point.
    • Create demand review pack and make available to relevant stakeholders 24-48 hours in advance of review.
    • Track actions from demand reviews and drive to closure.
    • Track key decisions from demand reviews and ensure communication to relevant parties.
    • Ensure delivery of output pack to relevant stakeholders within 24 hours of demand review.

What You Need to Succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
  • Education: Bachelor's degree
  • Required Experience: 3 + years working in finance, forecasting or related analytics fields. 3 + years of experience in Animal Health or related Industry.
  • Legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Elanco Animal Health does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.

What Will Give You the Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and SAP or similar ERP systems
  • Proven analytical/problem solving skills to enable the review of historical sales trends, research demand drivers, prepare forecast data, develop statistical forecast models, and evaluate forecast results.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and consultative skills
  • Tableau, PowerBI or other visualization tool utilization experience
  • Demonstrated success working on team projects across multiple business functions.
  • Demonstrated success managing large projects.
  • Demonstrated success leading others through influence.
  • Ability to work effectively across diverse teams and cultures
