Summary:
This is a 9-month faculty position within the Department of Food and Animal Sciences. The candidate reports directly to the department chairperson and operates within the Animal Science domain of the Department. The rank and tenure status are negotiable based on qualifications.
Examples of Duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Develop and lead a research program centered on livestock relevant to small and mid-size farms.
• Deliver instruction for 3 undergraduate courses per semester.
• Establish a multidisciplinary independent research agenda, securing extramural research funds.
• Engage in interdisciplinary research initiatives.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to undergraduate students.
• Serve on designated committees.
• Participate in student recruitment and retention activities.
• Fulfill additional duties and responsibilities assigned by the department chair.
Typical Qualifications
Minimum Position Requirements (including certifications, licenses, etc.):
Doctoral degree in Animal Science or a closely related field.
