The L-1 visa, used for intracompany transferees, generally has a more straightforward application process than the H-1B visa, which requires a labor condition application and is subject to annual caps. L-1 visas, including those for home-based roles, are subject to U.S. immigration policies, which can change with different administrations. During Trump's presidency, there were increased restrictions and scrutiny on visa programs, but the visa's status depends on current policies and regulations, not solely on past administrations. It is important to stay updated with USCIS guidelines and legal requirements for L-1 visa holders.
