This full-time role will allow you to make a tangible difference in the lives of patients as you deliver personalized and effective therapy in a comfortable home setting. Working directly with patients, you will focus on orthopedic rehabilitation, helping clients regain mobility, reduce pain, and enhance their overall quality of life.

About the Organization

At Restore Physical Therapy Services, we pride ourselves on being one of the leading home healthcare agencies in the nation, with a legacy of excellence that guides our mission. We are committed to reshaping healthcare through our innovative and cost-effective home health services, which include personalized medical home care, hospice, private duty home care, and independent living support. Our approach focuses on delivering care that is patient-centered, family-oriented, and tailored to the unique needs of each individual. By providing concierge-style services, we strive to create exceptional experiences that empower our clients to thrive at home.

Work Environment

This position is entirely onsite, meaning you will be providing therapy directly in the homes of patients throughout Appomattox. This work environment allows you to develop strong, compassionate relationships with clients as you assist them in a familiar and comforting setting. You will be part of a collaborative team that emphasizes open communication and integrated care, making the most of each patient's unique situation and environment.

Key Responsibilities

As an Orthopedic Physical Therapist, your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Directing and implementing a personalized physical therapy treatment plan that aims to relieve pain, prevent disability, and restore function.
  • Supervising Physical Therapy Assistants to ensure compliance with the therapeutic plan and delivering the highest quality of care.
  • Assessing clients' functional capabilities through comprehensive evaluations involving muscle, nerve, joint, and activity-level testing.
  • Evaluating home environments to identify modifications that promote client independence and safety during rehabilitation.
  • Delivering hands-on therapy services including manual therapeutic techniques, exercise instruction, and functional activity training.
  • Administering treatments such as traction or massage, and utilizing physical agents and modalities to optimize patient recovery.
  • Preparing and maintaining accurate clinical documentation, including initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries, complying with OASIS guidelines where applicable.
  • Collaborating with an interdisciplinary team, attending case conferences to contribute insights into comprehensive patient care strategies.
  • Engaging and educating clients and families on the proper use and maintenance of therapeutic devices and the full range of their therapy programs.
  • Monitoring patient progress, documenting changes in condition, and consulting with medical professionals, including physicians, to adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Staying accessible to support Physical Therapy Assistants during client treatments as required.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will primarily work with patients recovering from orthopedic conditions, post-surgical interventions, or chronic pain challenges. Your client population will include elderly individuals, those managing disabilities, and post-operative patients seeking rehabilitation services. You will be responsible for not only rehabilitating physical functions but also for fostering relationships built on trust and understanding to enhance client motivation and commitment to their treatment programs.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:

  • A Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution.
  • A current, valid PT license in good standing for the state of Virginia.
  • A minimum of one year of clinical experience, preferably within an acute care or home care setting.
  • Current CPR and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications.
  • A valid driver's license and automobile insurance to facilitate home visits.
  • Demonstrated leadership and decision-making capabilities within a clinical setting.
  • Exemplary interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, candidates with experience in home healthcare, familiarity with OASIS documentation, and a proficiency in utilizing modern therapy technologies will be highly regarded. A passion for continuous education and professional development in the field of physical therapy will further distinguish exceptional candidates.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges between USD 100,000 and 120,000 annually, commensurate with experience. Our comprehensive benefits package includes health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, retirement plan options, and opportunities for continuing education and professional growth.
