Job description

Maxim Management Services, LLC, serves as the operational team of WNY Urology Associates. We are currently seeking an experience Medical Biller to join our team of professionals.

As a medical biller, you will be responsible for submitting medical claims to various insurance companies and payers such as Medicare and Medicaid. The medical biller position plays a critical role for the financial cycle of all health care providers of WNY Urology from single-provider practices through large medical centers.

To be successful as a medical biller, you must have at least 1 year of medical billing experience and exceptional attention to detail. Experience with electronic (EMR) systems and paper systems used in billing healthcare services is required (Medent preferred).

Responsibilities Include:

  • Corrects, edits and manages denied claims due to invalid CPT codes, invalid Dx codes, missing Modifiers, bill incorrect insurance carrier, invalid eligibility, authorization/referral, documentation required or other open tasks requiring attention.
  • Audits, generates, and uploads insurance claims and submits claim by paper as appropriate.
  • Reviews and makes corrections to rejected claims and resubmits claims to payers.
  • Handles internal communications with the health centers related to insurance billing and collections.
  • Coordinates with the Network Administrator II to ensure accurate billing information is submitted. Works with Billing Manager to maximize revenue potential based on our unique services and providers.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all department, patient, and billing matters.

QUALIFICATIONS
To be considered and to perform this job successfully, an individual must have prior experience in the above job tasks and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Hourly pay will be based on prior billing experience and experience using MEDENT EMR system.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) and 1 year work experience as a Billing Specialist. Medent experience preferred.
