Job description

Ignite Digital is seeking a senior Business Process Reengineering (BPR) / Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support a U.S. Navy enterprise improvement initiative. This role requires expert-level mastery of largescale transformation programs, enterprise-wide process improvement, and Lean Six Sigma methodologies. Work will be performed onsite within the National Capital Region, and candidates must be eligible for TS/SCI clearance.

The SME will support Navy leadership by designing, implementing, and maturing transformation programs, driving organizational efficiencies, and mentoring senior practitioners across mission areas. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience working in large global organizations and deep familiarity with Department of War, preferably Navy, structures and culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead large-scale business transformation initiatives from initial program stand-up through development, implementation, and operationalization.
  • Design and manage enterprise-wide process improvement portfolios, initiatives, and projects for Navy stakeholder organizations.
  • Stand up, operationalize, and mature enterprise improvement programs for organizations with 8,000+ employees, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality enterprise improvement documentation, including SOPs, templates, tools, guidebooks, and governance artifacts.
  • Provide expert Lean Six Sigma (LSS) training, coaching, and mentorship to senior-level practitioners.
  • Conduct enterprise process modeling, workflow reengineering, and root-cause analysis to identify high-value improvement opportunities.
  • Apply deep understanding of DoW, preferably Navy, organizational structures, culture, and decision-making pathways to drive change in complex environments.
  • Partner with Navy leadership to implement transformation recommendations informed by industry standards and proven methodologies.

Required Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or organizational change.
  • Black Belt Certification from a reputable certifying entity (e.g., ASQ) or equivalent.
  • Expert-level knowledge of industry standards, methodologies, and best practices for large-scale business transformation program design and implementation.
  • Expert-level experience leading enterprise-wide process improvement projects, initiatives, portfolios, and programs.
  • Demonstrated experience establishing improvement programs in global organizations of 8,000+ personnel.
  • 10+ years of experience developing enterprise improvement documentation (SOPs, templates, tools, guidebooks, governance structures, etc.).
  • Experience delivering LSS training and mentorship to senior practitioners.
  • Deep understanding of DoW, preferably Navy, structure, culture, and changemanagement dynamics.
  • Strong communication skills with ability to influence senior leadership across military and civilian environments.
  • Demonstrated success driving enterprise transformation initiatives in complex, multi-stakeholder organizations.
  • Ability to synthesize complex process data into executive-ready insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Experience supporting Navy process-improvement and transformation activities similar to those described in Business Process Improvement Capabilities.
  • 10+ years of business process modeling experience.
  • 10+ years of process reengineering experience.
  • Eligibility to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.

Salary: $180k+ to align with education and experience.
