Job description

The Bilingual Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in a Primary Care Clinic specializing in Internal Medicine by providing direct patient care in both Spanish and English. This position supports various clinical procedures including vital signs measurement, injections, specimen collection, and complex lab tests, ensuring efficient patient flow and effective communication in a multilingual environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform patient intake and document medical history accurately
  • Measure and record vital signs
  • Schedule patient appointments using scheduling software
  • Collect specimens and assist with lab tests
  • Provide clinical support including medication administration and injections
  • Communicate bilingually with patients to ensure clear understanding and comfort
  • Sanitize and maintain medical equipment and clinical areas
  • Verify patient insurance information
  • Enter data into Electronic Health Records (EHR) system accurately

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year experience in medical assisting
  • Certificate or diploma in Medical Assisting
  • Fluent bilingual communication in Spanish and English
  • Proficient in phlebotomy and specimen collection
  • Familiar with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and patient scheduling software
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and infection control procedures
  • Strong customer service and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPR Certification
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential
