FLSA Status: Hourly/ Non Exempt
2nd Shift Schedule: 80 hour bi-weekly, 3:00pm-11:30pm (with every other weekend);
General Job Description: The Relief Second Shift Supervisor provides management of the Group Homes and supervision for the home staff in the absence of the Third Shift Supervisor. The Relief Third Shift Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that proper staff to resident ratios exist at all times and to assist the nursing department with medical care of the residents.
Essential Duties:
1. Conduct shift report in the absence of the Second Shift Supervisor.
2. Maintain adequate staff/resident ratio for third and first shift by coordinating call-ins and staffing as needed.
3. Provide supervision, direction, and leadership to the staff on third shift.
4. Perform Health Care Technician duties as needed (please see Health Care Technician job description for more details).
5. Provide residents and staff with a clean, safe, and secured environment by:
- Assure cleaning schedule is followed
- Monitor temp. of the homes
- Make corrections and changes in accordance with the recommendation of health and fire inspection and ICF Survey Team
- Oversee the residents, staff and visitors throughout her shift
- Monitors the home's needs and makes sure work orders are turned in as needed.
6. Assure that active treatment is provided:
- Goals are implemented correctly
- Data is recorded appropriately/consistently
- All record keeping is corrected and up to date
Minimum Age and Level of Education Required:
  • Minimum 21 years of Age
  • ​High School Diploma
  • A minimum of 2 years experience with children or in the area of developmental disabilities
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer skills (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others
  • Ability to work within a team situation
  • Ability to coordinate a variety of activities, appointments, and events within the scope of the campus.
License or Certificate Required:
  • Medication training for unlicensed personnel (can be obtained after employment)
  • Community CPR/First Aid Certification (can be obtained after employment)
  • CAP - Supported Living training (can be obtained after employment)
