Job description

Gardner-Watson Decking, Inc is seeking a new construction Crew Member to support our sheet metal decking installation projects.

This role involves the safe installation or welding of sheet metal decking on steel framing and performing shear stud installation.

The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-conscious, and comfortable working at heights and in varied weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lay and attach metal decking on steel structures
  • Operate hand, power, pneumatic, and powder-actuated tools safely and effectively
  • Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition
  • Accurately report time and attendance daily
  • Comply with OSHA, customer, and company safety standards
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Preferred Certifications (Not Required but a Plus):

  • OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety Certification
  • Welding Certification
  • Aerial Lift Certification

Work Schedule:

  • Full-time, hourly position, working daytime shift only.
  • When a project ends, employees will travel to a different city/state for the next project.
  • Work hours are based on active job site requirements and may vary slightly due to seasonal conditions. We have sites in GA, NM, TX, LA, VA, AZ, SC, MD and so many more.

  • 100% nationwide travel required.
  • Strong work ethic and a positive attitude
  • Ability to lift at least 75 lbs and work at heights over 40 feet

  • Must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
