Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced OT Automation Engineer to support automation, controls, and manufacturing technology projects in a regulated medical device environment. The role involves working with PLCs, HMIs, automation systems, equipment validation, and system upgrades while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable and compliant operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess PLCs, HMIs, and automation-controlled manufacturing equipment.
  • Support automation system upgrades, deployments, and remediation activities.
  • Review automation documentation and identify technical or documentation gaps.
  • Coordinate testing, validation, and qualification activities (UAT, IQ, OQ, PQ).
  • Work closely with Engineering, Quality, Operations, IT/OT, and equipment vendors.
  • Document project activities and ensure automation systems remain compliant.

Required Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of experience in Automation, Controls, or OT Engineering.
  • Hands-on experience with PLCs, HMIs, and industrial automation systems.
  • Experience working in a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Medical device, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology industry experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of automation testing, validation, and commissioning activities.
  • Experience supporting automation upgrades, migrations, or implementation projects.
  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Controls, Automation, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field is preferred.
