What is a HMDA Auditor?

A HMDA Auditor is a professional responsible for reviewing and ensuring a financial institution's compliance with the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA). Their main task is to audit loan data, verify its accuracy, and confirm it meets federal reporting requirements. They help organizations avoid legal penalties by identifying discrepancies, recommending corrective actions, and often training staff on HMDA regulations.
