Overview

The Senior Engineer, Integration serves as a subject matter expert within the Business Systems & Enterprise Platforms organization, delivering advanced technical depth and hands-on engineering execution across enterprise applications, integrations, middleware, and platform configuration with a specialized focus on Integration.

Responsibilities
  • Systems Engineering & Reliability: Design, implement, and operate technical systems with a focus on reliability, security, scalability, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
  • Application Development: Lead application design, coding, testing, and deployment following established SDLC methodologies and security best practices.
  • Integration Development: Drive integration development between systems and platforms, translating requirements into working technical solutions in collaboration with analysts and architects.
  • Infrastructure & Automation: Evaluate and improve Infrastructure-as-Code development, deployment automation, and configuration management to drive operational efficiency.
  • CI/CD & Release Management: Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation to support consistent, reliable release management.
  • Incident Response & Troubleshooting: Drive incident response, root cause analysis, and resolution of production issues, including participation in on-call rotations.
  • Monitoring & Observability: Design and maintain monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions to ensure system health and proactive issue detection.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Lead requirements gathering, develop dashboards and visualizations, and deliver data-driven recommendations and root cause analysis to support decision-making.
  • Code Quality & Technical Debt: Lead code reviews, quality assurance, and continuous improvement of bug fixes, performance optimization, and technical debt remediation.
  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all engineering activities comply with company policies and regulatory requirements, and maintain thorough documentation of systems, processes, and technical approaches.
  • Ensures compliance with all policies and standards, as well as state, federal and other regulatory bodies.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) degree from an accredited college or university. In lieu of degree, +5 years of additional experience is required.
  • 2+ yrs leadership of progressive experience in enterprise systems and business platforms or related fields.
  • Demonstrated success in leading large-scale programmers and changing management initiatives.
  • Experience managing teams and cross-functional projects in complex environments.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise systems and business platforms principles, tools, and industry standards.
  • Ability to participate in on-call duties (24/7) in support of incident and event management escalation.
Preferred
  • Enterprise Platform Experience: Working knowledge of ERP, CRM, and integration platforms; experience in healthcare (medical/dental), retail, or large enterprise environments, including familiarity with Epic (EHR).
  • Integration & Middleware: Hands-on experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform/CloudHub or comparable iPaaS tools; proficiency with SOA, microservices, and large-scale integration design and deployment.
  • API & Messaging Standards: Proficiency with REST, SOAP, JSON, XML, WSDL, RAML, and YAML; experience with API management technologies and web services development.
  • Streaming & Event-Driven Architecture: Solid understanding of Apache Kafka fundamentals (topics, partitions, brokers, producers/consumers) and real-time stream processing, data pipelines, and event-driven design patterns.
  • Programming & Web Services: Proficiency in one or more languages (Java, Python, JavaScript) with hands-on experience building and consuming APIs and web services.
  • Healthcare Data Standards: Familiarity with HL7, EDI X12 message structures, and healthcare-specific interoperability requirements.
  • Architecture Patterns: Familiarity with Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Canonical Data Models (CDM), and object-oriented analysis and design principles.
  • DevOps & CI/CD: Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and source control tools including Git and Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo).
  • Documentation & Technical Writing: Experience developing and maintaining technical documentation, API specifications, and customer-facing reference materials.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with enterprise systems trends and integration patterns within healthcare, retail, or similarly complex regulated environments.

Travel
  • Travel via car or airplane for meetings, audits, vendor engagements, and/or site visit
  • Travel includes overnight periods.
  • Travel to multiple offices per day, in some cases several times per day.
  • Typically requires in-person presence at the support office Monday through Friday.
