What does hiring entry level mean?

'Hiring entry level' refers to recruiting candidates for positions that require little to no prior work experience in the field. These jobs are typically designed for recent graduates or individuals looking to start a new career path. Entry level positions often provide on-the-job training and opportunities for skill development, making them a good starting point for building a career. Employers seek candidates who are eager to learn, adaptable, and motivated, even if they lack professional experience.

What are some common challenges faced by entry-level hires during their first few months, and how can they overcome them?

Entry-level hires often face challenges such as adapting to a new professional environment, managing workloads, and learning company-specific processes. It's common to feel overwhelmed by new responsibilities and the pace of work. To overcome these challenges, proactively seek feedback, ask questions, and take advantage of training resources provided by the company. Building relationships with team members and finding a mentor can also help you navigate the transition more smoothly and accelerate your learning curve.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in an entry-level hiring role, and why are they important?

To thrive in an entry-level hiring role, you generally need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a basic understanding of recruitment processes, often supported by a bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related field. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS), resume databases, and productivity tools like Microsoft Office is typically required. Excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills help you connect with candidates and collaborate with hiring managers. These competencies are crucial for efficiently sourcing, screening, and facilitating successful hires in a competitive talent market.

We're hiring entry-level Mitigation Technicians, no experience needed, no degree required, full training paid. You'll learn a licensed trade (IICRC certification, on us), work with real equipment, and respond to real emergencies helping homeowners recover from water, fire, and storm damage.
What you get:
  • $20–$23/hour starting pay (based on availability and certifications)
  • Paid IICRC certification — a credential that travels with you anywhere in the country
  • Overtime available — emergency work pays
  • Promotion from within — our crew leads, supervisors, and managers started exactly where you'd start
  • 16 locations across 7 states — build skills here, transfer anywhere
What you'll do: Respond to property damage calls. Extract water, set up drying equipment, demo damaged materials, clean and restore contents. Work with a crew. Learn the science of restoration (psychrometrics, structural drying, microbial remediation). Talk to customers on the worst day of their year and help fix it.
What we're looking for:
  • 18+, valid driver's license, able to lift 50 lbs and work on your feet
  • Show up on time, ready to work
  • Willing to be on-call rotation (water damage doesn't keep banker's hours)
  • Bilingual English/Spanish a plus, not required
This is a trade. Two years in, you're a certified technician earning real money. Five years in, you're running jobs or a crew. Ten years in, you're running a location. That path is real here; most of our leaders came up through this exact role.
