Job description

Introduction

Envoy is an end-to-end digital consultancy that helps organizations accelerate growth through connected customer experiences. Trusted by iconic brands and tomorrow's category leaders, Envoy's multidisciplinary team of strategists, designers, and technologists deliver client impact through brand building, ecommerce, digital products, built environments, marketing and communications. Headquartered in Irvine, California with offices in San Diego and Chicago, Envoy transforms experiences for clients such as T-Mobile, Visa, Arlo, Nike, Hyundai and Diageo.

Opportunity

We're hiring an Account Director to lead client relationships, drive strategic engagement across multi-discipline projects, and grow long-term partnerships. You'll be the primary client-facing leader for a portfolio of key accounts, responsible for commercial outcomes, strategic direction, and cross-functional team delivery.

What You Will Do

Client Partnership

  • Own and grow a portfolio of client relationships; act as the senior partner and trusted adviser.
  • Support in defining account strategy and develop annual growth plans (upsell, cross-sell, renewals).
  • Translate client business objectives into clear briefs and measurable project goals.
  • Drive client satisfaction, capture feedback and implement continuous improvement.
  • Own organic growth planning, reporting and forecasting for key accounts.
  • Represent the agency externally (events, thought leadership, case studies).

Project Delivery and Leadership

  • Ensure projects deliver on time, on budget and to agreed quality standards; remove blockers and escalate appropriately.
  • Lead proposal development, scoping, pricing and contractual negotiations in partnership with finance and leadership.
  • Coordinate internal teams (strategy, design, research, engineering) to align delivery and maintain momentum.
  • Maintain executive-level stakeholder engagement; present work and outcomes clearly and persuasively.
  • Mentor and develop mid/senior client leads and project managers; contribute to hiring and team development.
Qualities and Qualifications
  • 7+ years in client services/account leadership in an agency environment.
  • Proven track record of managing and growing complex, multi-disciplinary accounts.
  • Strong business/operational acumen: experience with scoping, pricing, contracting and forecasting.
  • Excellent client-facing and presentation skills; comfortable engaging C-suite stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of design and technology processes.
  • Experience with development technologies, digital production, third-party applications and platforms.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience working in digital marketing and media
  • Exceptional project/people management and the ability to coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • Data-informed mindset: experience using metrics and KPIs to demonstrate impact.
  • Strong negotiation, problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites as required.
  • The ability to work hybrid out of our Irvine office up to 3 days a week.

Your charge as an AD.

  • You are a connector and catalyst; the glue and accelerant.
  • You are a co-conspirator.
  • Damn good delivery is the only kind of delivery you're interested in.

Our Hiring Process

We aim for an ideal time-to-hire of 35 days and are committed to making the interview process efficient, engaging, and enjoyable for every candidate.

We're aiming for a target start date of August 24th, 2026, although this may shift slightly depending on factors such as applicant volume, process speed, and onboarding preparation. We'll keep you updated every step of the way.

Here's what you can expect from our hiring process:

  • Every application is thoughtfully reviewed by our team
  • A phone conversation with someone from our People & Culture team
  • A video interview with the hiring manager
  • An onsite interview with our team in our Irvine office
What We Offer

The salary range for this position is between $110,000 to $125,000, plus benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.

Envoy offers 100% employer-paid health and dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays.
