Tri-County Truck, an Isuzu/Hino/Cummins dealership that is part of the Lou Bachrodt Automotive Group, has an immediate opening for a qualified Diesel Truck Technician.


We are looking for high caliber professionals who share our same passion, drive, and commitment. We are a family-owned business which recognizes that our strength comes from having a great team of Diesel Truck Technicians who want a career, not a job. We want Diesel Truck Technicians who are excited about working in a fast-paced, high-volume shop where they can be financially rewarded while working on the largest truck brands like Isuzu, Hino, Fuso, Cummins and more.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct diagnostic tests to identify mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues in diesel engines, vehicles, and equipment.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks, to ensure proper functioning and longevity of diesel engines.
  • Repair or replace faulty components, such as fuel systems, transmissions, exhaust systems, and cooling systems, using specialized tools and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems in diesel engines, electrical systems, and onboard computer systems.
  • Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance activities according to prescribed schedules to detect and prevent potential issues before they become major problems.
  • Keep accurate records of all repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used, utilizing digital or manual documentation systems.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Collaborate with team members, including mechanics, supervisors, and parts personnel, to coordinate repairs, share knowledge, and ensure efficient workflow.
  • Stay up to date with advancements in diesel engine technology, industry trends, and regulatory requirements, attending training sessions and workshops as necessary.


Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a recognized technical training program in diesel technology is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Diesel Technician, preferably in a fleet or automotive repair environment.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve complex diesel engine issues.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, computerized testing equipment, and software applications for diesel engine diagnostics.
  • In-depth knowledge of diesel engine components, systems, and repair techniques.
  • Familiarity with diesel engine manufacturers' guidelines, service manuals, and technical specifications.
  • Ability to interpret and follow technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with team members and provide clear explanations to customers.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual tasks, lift heavy components, and work in various weather conditions.
  • Valid Florida driver's license.
  • Isuzu, Hino, Fuso, Cummins brand experience is a Plus!

NOTE: Lou Bachrodt has an introductory hourly pay guarantee for the first 30 days of employment. This is to get the new hire trained and onboarded properly. After the 30 days, the pay will be based on an hourly production rate known as "Flat-Rate" based on the hours you flag.  MUST BE COMFORTABL with Flat-Rate pay.
