Job description

Job Title: Construction QA/QC Manager – Data Center

Position Summary

Company is seeking an experienced Construction QA/QC Manager to lead the Quality Assurance and Quality Control program for mission-critical data center construction projects. This position is responsible for ensuring all construction activities meet project specifications, owner requirements, industry standards, and safety regulations while leading a multidisciplinary QA/QC team throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the project QA/QC program from design through commissioning and project turnover.
  • Develop and maintain Project Quality Plans (PQP), Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), quality procedures, and reporting standards.
  • Ensure compliance with owner requirements, applicable codes, and industry standards.
  • Establish quality metrics, monitor project performance, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead and mentor QA/QC inspectors and specialists across electrical, mechanical, civil, structural, and commissioning disciplines.
  • Manage field inspections, quality audits, punch lists, and commissioning activities.
  • Oversee Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and quality documentation.
  • Review Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), testing results, and equipment inspections.
  • Coordinate closely with project management, commissioning teams, contractors, and owners.
  • Serve as the primary QA/QC contact for clients, contractors, and third-party inspection agencies.
  • Manage project turnover documentation, inspection reports, test records, warranties, and closeout packages.
  • Identify quality risks and develop mitigation and recovery plans.
  • Assist with vendor qualification and subcontractor quality performance.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
  • OSHA 30 Certification required.
  • 10+ years of QA/QC experience in construction.
  • Minimum 5 years supporting data center, mission-critical, or large industrial/commercial construction projects.
  • Minimum 3 years leading QA/QC teams.
  • Experience developing and managing project QA/QC programs.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems including switchgear, generators, UPS systems, transformers, PDUs, chilled water systems, and HVAC equipment.
  • Familiarity with Uptime Institute Tier III/IV facilities and redundancy concepts (N+1, 2N, etc.).
  • Knowledge of industry standards including IEEE, NEC, NFPA, NETA, ASHRAE, SMACNA, NEBB, AABC, and ASME.
  • Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Cx Alloy, Aconex, and Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Work Environment

  • Initial assignment near Dallas, TX with daily onsite attendance.
  • Up to 100% travel to project sites as assigned.
  • Work performed in active construction and industrial environments.
  • Ability to support night and weekend testing activities when required.
  • Extended hours may be required during critical project milestones.
