What is high yield sales?

High Yield Sales refers to the buying and selling of high-yield bonds, which are fixed-income securities that offer higher interest rates due to their lower credit ratings compared to investment-grade bonds. Professionals in this field work with institutional clients such as asset managers, hedge funds, and insurance companies to facilitate transactions, provide market insights, and manage risk. High Yield Sales specialists need strong knowledge of credit markets, financial analysis, and client relationship management. The job often involves fast-paced decision-making and staying updated on market trends and economic developments.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a high yield sales professional?

To thrive as a High Yield Sales professional, you need a solid background in finance or economics, deep knowledge of fixed income markets, and typically a relevant degree or financial certifications like FINRA Series 7 and 63. Familiarity with Bloomberg Terminal, market data platforms, and CRM systems is crucial for analyzing bonds and managing client relationships. Outstanding interpersonal skills, negotiation ability, and resilience help you build trust and close deals with institutional clients. These competencies are vital for navigating complex markets, providing tailored investment solutions, and achieving sales targets in a competitive environment.

How does a high yield sales professional typically collaborate with traders and research analysts to serve clients?

Job description

About the Opportunity

Are you a visionary mortgage banking executive with a proven track record of scaling multi-channel sales engines? We are partnering with a premier, high-growth financial services institution to find an elite Senior Vice President (SVP) of Sales to architect and lead their National Business Purpose Lending (BPL) mortgage origination division.

Reporting directly to the Group President, you will hold full P&L accountability for the BPL vertical. This is a high-visibility, legacy-building executive seat where you will recruit top-tier talent, scale retail and wholesale/correspondent channels, deploy sophisticated lead-generation frameworks, and optimize warehouse lines to maximize yield and market share.

What You Will Do
  • Execute Executive Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing national sales organization dedicated entirely to Business Purpose Loan (BPL) originations.
  • Drive Full P&L Strategy: Own the financial blueprint, establishing productivity metrics, managing resource capacity models, and exceeding revenue targets.
  • Build Multi-Channel Engines: Directly scale both retail and wholesale/correspondent sales funnels specifically within the BPL mortgage banking arena.
  • Capital & Yield Optimization: Oversee secondary market sales/purchases, track loan mixes, handle yield analyses, and manage warehouse lines.
  • Champion Tech & Marketing: Collaborate with marketing to execute aggressive lead-generation plans and partner with technology teams to design automated performance dashboards.
What We Are Looking For
  • Executive Experience: 10+ years of mortgage sales leadership experience with direct, full P&L management responsibilities.
  • BPL Specialization: 5+ years of dedicated mortgage origination experience specific to Business Purpose Lending (investor loans, DSCR, fix-and-flip).
  • People Management: 7+ years of elite experience recruiting, training, and building high-impact corporate teams.
  • Technical Domain Expertise: Proven, hands-on experience in warehouse line management, secondary marketing, and joint marketing agreements.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related economic field.
Why This Executive Track?

This mandate offers an entirely open, elite executive compensation structure tailored precisely to your background and industry market value. You will step into a sophisticated infrastructure boasting substantial corporate backing, cutting-edge mortgage technology, and a collaborative executive culture focused on sustainable, high-yield innovation.
