Job description

High Yield Credit Sales Associate

Our High Yield Credit Sales team is seeking a motivated and ambitious associate for a client-coverage role in the New York office. You will cover Real Money and Hedge Fund clients, focusing on both primary issuance and secondary flow and alternative credit products. Collaborate with trading, research, syndicate, and other functions to deliver exceptional service to our clients. This role offers the opportunity to generate trade ideas, market commentary, and broaden product bandwidth for our clients.

Job responsibilities:

  • Coverage responsibilities will include both Real Money and Hedge Fund clients, focusing on flow and alternative credit products.
  • Collaborate with trading, research, syndicate, and other functions to deliver the firm to our client base.
  • Operate closely alongside the broader HY sales business to back-up accounts where needed.
  • Self-start and generate trade ideas & market commentary to distinguish yourself and the business from the competition.
  • Broaden the product bandwidth of our clients to increase focus on alternative credit (infrastructure, receivables, illiquids, financing).

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • 2+ year of relevant experience.
  • Finance degree or relevant equivalent.
  • Spread product experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience and aptitude in balancing & influencing internal and external stakeholder interests.
  • Genuine interest and motivation to work in markets & with clients.
  • Ability to understand complex topics and products and explain them to other parties.
  • Ability to think on a strategic level and identify future opportunities for business growth.
  • Very strong communication skills.
  • Ability to grasp new concepts & products and deliver them to clients.
  • Proactive, team player, detail-oriented, and motivated.
  • Excellent time management abilities.
