Description
The library is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented high school student to join our team as a part-time Library Page. This year-round position involves shelving returned books and materials to help keep the library's collections organized and accessible. The role is open to students and offers up to 12 hours per week, including one closing shift for students aged 16 and older, as well as two four-hour weekend shifts per month. Open shifts are typically Monday 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., Tuesday 5 p.m. .to 8 p.m., or Thursday 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. $9.32 per hour. The monthly weekend shift 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 pm. Scheduling is flexible and will be coordinated with the students' availability whenever possible.

Summary: Library Pages are part-time year-round high school student employees responsible for shelving returned books and other items in the proper places on the shelves. They are also responsible for keeping items in the correct order.
Examples of Duties
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
- Sort, check, and re-shelve returned books and other library materials, including DVDs, CDs, magazines and audiobooks.
- Shelf reading sections- Each Library Page is assigned to an area and is expected to keep it in a neat and orderly manner on a regular basis.
- Conduct ongoing shelf reading of both Non-fiction and Fiction Collections.
- Assist with closing Duties, including tidying the children's area, re-shelving reference books, turning off equipment and straightening chairs.
- Shelf and re-arrange items in the collection as needed to maintain proper spacing and order.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a minimum of 15 ยฝ years old.
- Must complete the application process and pass background check.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn the Dewey Decimal system (training provided).
- Strong ability to alphabetize and organize materials accurately.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to follow both oral and written instructions carefully.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and willingness to ask for help when needed.
- Physical ability to lift, bend, reach, and perform light physical tasks.
