Job Requirements – L&D Registered Nurse
  • Minimum 2 years recent Labor & Delivery experience (L&D RN, high-risk OB preferred)
  • Valid RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
  • Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
  • EPIC charting experience required (electronic medical record proficiency)
  • IV start proficiency and L&D-specific clinical skills required
  • Previous travel nurse experience preferred
  • Ability to float to antepartum and other units within the organization as needed
  • Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
  • Two professional references required (one from a manager/director or formal leadership; charge RN acceptable for second reference)
Responsibilities – Labor & Delivery RN / Travel Nurse
  • Provide comprehensive, evidence-based care to laboring mothers and newborns in a high-risk obstetrics setting (L&D, postpartum, neonatal support)
  • Perform IV starts, administer medications, and monitor maternal and fetal well-being using external and internal fetal monitoring
  • Interpret fetal monitoring and telemetry, recognize and escalate abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
  • Assist with sterile speculum exams, triage obstetrical patients, and support breastfeeding/lactation education
  • Circulate and recover C-sections, manage postpartum hemorrhage, and provide pain assessment and management
  • Float to antepartum and other units as needed; collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, social services, and IV teams
  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation using EPIC (electronic health record)
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement and patient safety initiatives in high-risk OB care
