The Regional SEO Team Lead is a senior operational leadership role responsible for the delivery, growth, and operational excellence of all SEO services (Technical & On-Page & AIO/GEO/LLM) within their assigned region (Americas & LATAM OR EMEA & APAC).

This role oversees a regional SEO team, ensuring high-quality delivery within the global SEO frameworks, driving innovation, operational efficiency, and maintaining strong commercial health across client engagements.

Reporting into the Global Director of Digital Strategy, this role bridges strategic direction with regional execution - ensuring SEO strategies align to global best practices while being adapted for regional needs.

Critically, the Regional SEO Team Lead holds shared responsibility for growing existing client accounts, supporting retention, and achieving defined margin targets - contributing directly to the agency's profitability and success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Regional SEO Leadership

  • Lead all SEO delivery across Technical SEO, On-Page SEO and AIO/GEO in the assigned region.
  • Ensure all SEO deliverables adhere to global frameworks, SOPs, and quality standards as defined by the Global SEO Team & Global Director of Digital Strategy.
  • Where necessary, collaborate with global/regional counterparts to create and/or maintain global SOPs, ensuring efficiency, consistency and process alignment
  • Oversee regional SEO resourcing (in-house & external), capacity planning, and project prioritization.

Financial & Commercial Accountability

  • Ensure projects/deliverables are executed according to defined metrics and remain in budget.
  • Overseeing time tracking of team members for the accuracy of project markup and provide insights/actions for replicating successes and mitigating in efficiencies
  • Drive SEO account growth within the region, identifying upsell opportunities and supporting pre-sales with scoping, quoting, and proposal support.
  • Maximize internal resource usage while smartly managing vendor outsourcing within approved guidelines for timely SLAs, project completion and revenue recognition.

Operational Management & Team Development

  • Manage and mentor SEO specialists within the region (Tech & On-Page,AIO/GEO), fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.
  • Ensure a clear training agenda and/or SMART objectives for the development of every team member
  • Ensure clear alignment between Technical SEO, On-Page SEO AIO/GEO, Content, UX/CRO, and Paid Media teams in delivering integrated SEO strategies.
  • Contribute to the evolution of regional outsourcing processes, vendor management, and quality control.

Client Engagement & Collaboration

  • Participate in key client calls (strategy reviews, technical updates, performance reporting) as needed.
  • Support QBRs and strategic reviews alongside Client Services to ensure SEO is contributing to client success and growth.
  • Collaborate closely with the Global Director of Digital Strategy and other Regional SEO Team Leads to share learnings, drive consistency, and evolve services.

Team Integration, Collaboration & Innovation

  • Play a key role in the smooth integration of teams across Technical SEO, On-Page SEO, and supporting functions within the region.
  • Drive alignment on processes, SOPs, and delivery standards - ensuring consistency with global frameworks.
  • Foster an environment of collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation.
  • Act as a champion of AI and GenAI innovation - encouraging the adoption of new tools, automation, and AI-driven processes that enhance delivery, scalability, and performance outcomes.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Strong demonstrable experience (8+ years) in SEO, covering both Technical and On-Page SEO at a senior level.
  • Proven leadership skills in managing regional or multi-disciplinary SEO teams.
  • Commercial acumen with experience in contributing to client growth, profitability, and operational efficiency.
  • Excellent knowledge of SEO tools, analytics platforms, and automation solutions.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage both internal teams and external clients effectively.
  • Knowledge of UX/CRO integration within SEO strategies.
  • Familiarity with AI-powered tools and automation for SEO delivery.

DESIRABLE SKILLS

  • Experience managing international or multi-language SEO campaigns.
  • Exposure to pricing strategy, service packaging, or productized SEO solutions.
