This role will focus on building and optimizing large-scale data systems, integrating structured and semi-structured data streams, and enabling advanced data visualization and analytics through desktop and web applications. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in enterprise database design, high-performance computing, and the use of COTS, GOTS, and open-source tools to deliver actionable intelligence to mission-critical operations. An active Top Secret clearance is required. Key Responsibilities: Lead the development of advanced data analytics capabilities integrated into visual analytic software for both desktop and web environments.
Engineer and optimize large-scale relational databases to support high-throughput data ingestion and real-time analytics.
Facilitate bulk analysis of relational and semi-structured data using advanced visualization tools, high-performance computing techniques, and specified technologies (COTS, GOTS, and open-source).
Design and implement data pipelines and architectures that extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from multiple sources into centralized, accessible formats.
Establish data strategies for enterprise-scale systems, setting best practices and standards for performance, programming, and security.
Integrate new applications and analytics systems with existing data warehouse architectures.
Continuously evaluate and improve system performance and functionality to meet mission objectives.
Develop and maintain data models, metadata repositories, and documentation to ensure transparency and maintainability.
Collaborate with software developers, data scientists, and intelligence analysts to deliver scalable and secure analytic solutions.
Translate complex business and technical requirements into robust data systems and workflows. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
Minimum of 8 years of experience in data engineering, database development, or related roles.
Active Top Secret clearance required.
Strong expertise in designing and building large-scale relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server).
Proficiency in developing and maintaining ETL pipelines and working with structured/semi-structured data (e.g., JSON, XML, CSV).
Experience with enterprise data warehouse architectures and integration of new systems into existing environments.
Familiarity with big data frameworks (e.g., Hadoop, Spark), data modeling, and performance tuning.
Hands-on experience with advanced data visualization and analytics platforms.
Solid understanding of data security best practices, governance, and compliance in secure environments.
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in defense, intelligence, or government data environments.
Familiarity with geospatial or temporal data visualization tools.
Knowledge of cloud-based data services and platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as Python, Scala, or Java.
