Are you an early riser with a passion for precision and a love for local food? Hewn, a nationally recognized and independently-owned artisan bakery in Evanston, Illinois, is looking for a part-time Delivery Driver & Packer to join our growing team.  At Hewn, we're proud to be celebrated by publications like the New York Times, Bon Appétit, and Food & Wine for our commitment to crafting naturally fermented artisan breads and pastries. We're a key part of Evanston's vibrant food scene, and we thrive in our diverse community. 
What You'll Do:
This isn't just a driving job—it's a crucial role in bringing our delicious baked goods to our loyal customers! You'll be responsible for:
  • Carefully packing our freshly baked breads and pastries.
  • Efficiently loading/unloading our delivery van
  • Safely delivering orders to our locations in Winnetka and Libertyville (two runs per shift)
  • Helping the Front of House as needed while providing excellent customer service.
What We're Looking For:
We need someone who is dependable, highly organized, and thrives in early mornings. This role requires:
  • Early morning availability, with shifts starting as early as 5:30 AM.
  • Weekend availability.
  • ServSafe Food Handlers and Allergen certification.
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • The ability and willingness to drive a small delivery van.
  • Customer service and retail experience.
  • The ability to lift 40 lbs.
  • Basic computer skills (for printing invoices and interpreting orders).
  • A positive, energetic attitude and strong attention to detail.
  • The ability to multitask and work seamlessly within a team.
