Job Description
ABOUT TOPBUILD HOME SERVICES
TopBuild Home Services is a leading building science and energy performance partner to residential new construction builders, offering high-quality and cost-effective solutions for code compliance and home performance testing.
Your Responsibilities
Conduct a variety of energy efficiency testing and punch list inspections on new construction houses. HERS rater preferred, BPI certification or other relevant energy inspection experience welcome. Teachable individuals with any construction experience also welcome to apply as training can be provided.
  • Prepare new construction homes for inspection services

  • Conduct blower door testing

  • Conduct ventilation testing

  • Perform duct leakage testing

  • Conduct code - based energy inspections

  • Verify HERS, Energy Star or other specialized program rating

  • Work with local site superintendents on job scheduling, test troubleshooting

  • Communicate code and company standards to customers and local officials

  • Conduct infrared scans

  • Work within company software program to complete test results and log reporting and other vital information

  • Prepare home performance reports

  • Adhere to company communication standards, policies and procedures

  • Other duties as assigned.

Your Qualifications
  • Training will be provided by the company for teachable candidates who lack prior experience

  • Existing RESNET RFI / HERS Rater certification is strongly preferred

  • BPI, Building Science or other energy testing experience or knowledge is a plus

  • Candidate should be:

  • Able to learn new things and have the desire to gain more experience and new certifications over time

  • Dependable, energetic and have good speaking and interpersonal skills

  • Comfortable working independently on construction job sites

  • Comfortable with computers, smart phone / tablet and familiarity with Microsoft tools like Word, Excel and Outlook

  • Able to work independently

  • Able to read basic building plan/floor designs and perform area and volume calculations

Other Requirements
  • Must be 18 years old.

  • If operating a vehicle for company purposes, a valid driver's license is required.

THIS IS A SAFETY SENSITIVE POSITION
Travel Requirements
Daily travel to construction sites within the local regional location in company provided vehicle
Physical Requirements
This role requires prolonged standing and repetitive motions, including bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling. Role also requires good hand-eye coordination, hand dexterity, and physical strength. The position involves lifting up to 50 pounds, depending on the specific job duties.

Compensation Range:
