Job description

Reporter
The Waco Tribune-Herald has an immediate opening for an energetic full-time reporter to cover general news, breaking news and public safety in Waco, Texas.
Position Responsibilities
  • The successful candidate will write news stories based on assigned beats, interview sources, compile short videos to use with stories, and be able to write on deadline each day.
  • This is a full-time reporting position in our newsroom.
  • Our reporters cover multiple beats, prioritized by the managing editor week to week.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
  • Our ideal candidate is curious, with a strong work ethic and a passion to inform.

Detail-oriented, with good spelling, typing and grammar skills, a must.
  • Minimal travel outside the immediate coverage area.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field required.
  • Previous experience in a newsroom/newspaper environment preferred.
  • Minimum video editing skills helpful.
