What You'll Do

This is fly in and fly out to Eskay Creek, BC. This position is 2weeks on-site/2 weeks out, and 12 Hour Shifts.  As the Truck Driver / Magazine Keeper, you will operator Dyno Nobel trucks and other such plant equipment in order to deliver commercial explosives products to customers in a safe, timely, and efficient manner. You will be responsible for loading and unloading all trucks, and maintain magazines, sites, and inventories. Other duties will include::

  • Drive/operate a range of delivery vehicles over public roads in order to move or deliver explosive products to company or customer sites in a timely and safe manner
  • Operation of rigid-frame, engine-powered machines (skid steer or equivalent)
  • Possess basic mechanical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs or maintenance while in the field, deliver and off load product within DN H&S Management System procedures and practices
  • Drive/operate a range of delivery vehicles over public roads in order to move or deliver explosive products to company or customer sites in a timely and safe manner. Driving duties will also frequently extend off of public roads to include mine locations/roads, FSRs, off-road field locations and other such potentially difficult terrain
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain safe working conditions in the shop, while driving and operating equipment and while on blast sites in order to protect personal safety and safety of others
  • Prepare and maintain all records and reports concerning the handling and transportation of explosive products, including safety, and the use and detonation of explosives, in order to ensure accurate billing, regulatory compliance, and performance history
  • Maintain safe working conditions and assure that all crew members and others on the site follow all safety and regulatory procedures and practices to ensure a safe and successful event
  • Responsible for Inventory Management

What We're Looking For:

  • Minimum Class 3 with Air Brakes endorsement required
  • 12+ months of commercial driving required
  • Previous work experience with explosives preferred
  • Must satisfy the requirements for NRCAN Explosives Handling Permit
  • Acquire and maintain all appropriate licenses and certifications required by Federal and Provincial entities
  • Experience with Inventory Management a plus
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English, and to communicate in writing and verbally
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Basic computer knowledge is needed
  • Must be able to move items weighing up to 60lbs, repetitively, over the course of a working day
  • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
