On-Call Locksmith - Residential and Commercial
Job Type:
Part-time / On-Call
Pay:
$35 per hour + $60 trip charge
We are seeking an experienced and reliable On-Call Locksmith to support after-hours, weekend, and emergency service requests. This role includes residential, commercial, and safe-related work. Ideal candidates are dependable, professional, and able to respond quickly to service calls.
Responsibilities
  • Respond to emergency lockouts (residential, commercial, vehicle) during on-call hours
  • Rekey, repair, install, and replace locks, cylinders, deadbolts, and door hardware
  • Diagnose and resolve door alignment, latch, and access issues
  • Cut and duplicate keys on-site
  • Provide security recommendations and lock system upgrades
  • Perform safe services, including:
    • Safe lockouts (mechanical and digital)
    • Combination changes
    • Basic safe drilling and manipulation
    • Safe lock replacements
    • Boltwork troubleshooting
  • Maintain accurate job notes, materials used, and time tracking
  • Communicate clearly with dispatch regarding arrival times and job status
  • Follow all safety, access, and property protection procedures

Requirements
  • Proven locksmith experience (safe experience preferred but not required)
  • Ability to work independently and solve mechanical issues quickly
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to lift 40-50 lbs and work in various weather conditions
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Must pass background check

Availability
  • Nights, weekends, and holidays as assigned
  • Must be able to respond within 30-60 minutes depending on coverage area
  • Must notify dispatch immediately if unavailable during assigned on-call periods

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with commercial hardware (panic bars, closers, storefront doors)
  • Familiarity with master key systems
  • Safe technician training (SAVTA, ALOA, or equivalent)
