Job description

Trusted Talent is seeking a travel nurse RN Cardiac Cath Lab for a travel nursing job in Hyannis, Massachusetts.

Purpose of Position:

Engage in the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Deliver the highest quality customer service standards while adhering to hospital policies.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Utilize the nursing process for patient care, maintaining relevant, accurate, and current patient records.
  • Provide documentation of patient assessments throughout hospital admission, including physical, psychological, social dimensions, and discharge plans.
  • Summarize assessment data and initiate the plan of care, communicating pertinent information to allied patient care providers.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the charge nurse role and in computerized nursing informatics systems.
  • Serve as a resource person for patient care, and staff orientation and teaching.
  • Participate in at least four unit staff meetings annually and attend mandatory programs.
  • Engage in identifying patient care aspects and indicators for monitoring the quality and appropriateness of care.
  • Adhere to safety and blood/body fluid policies and procedures.
  • Assess and document personal learning and professional development needs and activities.
  • Update knowledge of techniques and regulations appropriate to patient age.
  • Participate in nursing committees and represent the hospital in a professional manner, maintaining confidentiality.
  • Perform additional work-related duties and activities as instructed by a supervisor.
  • Consistently provide service excellence to patients, family members, visitors, and co-workers.

Education/Experience/Training:

  • Must read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
  • Completion of the intra-aortic balloon pump course.
  • Pass CCHC Pharmacology and Basic Arrhythmia Exams.
  • Experience in post-procedure monitoring and management on an Acute Cardiac Unit/Stepdown.
  • Demonstrated skills in I.V. administration and telemetry monitoring.
  • Use of lead apron required.
  • On-call required for off-shift, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Recent cardiovascular interventional nursing experience.
  • A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
  • Certification as a Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) or Certified Radiology Nurse (CRN).
