Job description

Yellowstone Local is proud to represent Hecla Limited, a leader in underground mining operations.

If you’re a skilled diesel or heavy equipment mechanic who wants to work on complex mining equipment and build advanced troubleshooting skills, this is your opportunity to join a stable operation at the Lucky Friday Mine.

What You’ll Get
  • Hourly pay: $30.26 to $41.55 based on technician level

  • Incentive bonus: 20% to 35% of base pay

  • Profit-sharing eligibility

  • Full-time schedule with 40 to 50 hours per week

  • Rotating 12-hour shift schedule with days and nights (4-5-5-4)

      What You’ll Do
      • Perform maintenance and repairs on heavy mobile equipment on-site in Mullan, Idaho

      • Troubleshoot diesel, hydraulic, and electrical systems

      • Complete scheduled service and repairs

      • Read and interpret schematics

      • Repair drivelines, gearboxes, and components

      • Perform welding and fabrication tasks

      • Build and repair hydraulic hoses

      • Document maintenance and complete work orders

      • Follow company safety and site procedures

        What You Need
        • 4+ years of diesel or heavy equipment experience

        • Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems

        • Ability to read schematics and technical drawings

        • Experience with heavy equipment or mining equipment preferred

        • Welding and fabrication experience is a plus

        • Ability to work rotating day/night shifts

        • Comfortable working in underground environments

        • Strong attention to safety and detail

        • Willingness and ability to work on-site in Mullan, Idaho with relocation assistance provided
