Summary
Sambatek is currently seeking a Project Engineer to work with a team to execute water resources design for transportation and land development projects. As a project engineer, this individual will be responsible for the design and the implementation of hydraulic/hydrologic design, as well as developing and enforcing design best management practices.

  • Work Location: Hybrid, flexible work arrangements
  • Expected Compensation Range: $38-52 per hour (Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications)
  • Pay Rate Type: Hourly with overtime rate of 1.5x base pay for all hours worked over 40 in a week

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to transportation and land development projects in preliminary design phase and plan development phase
  • Measure, calculate, and tabulate quantities for bidding purposes
  • Participate in quality review processes
  • Perform proficient CAD drafting in MicroStation, GEOPAK, and OpenRoads Designer
  • Design and lead production of subtasks/tasks for a task lead or project manager as part of a collaborative team
  • Complete and review water resources calculations, modeling, and reports
  • Maintain existing client relationships by providing exceptional service and quality deliverables
  • Provide technical and professional mentoring to developing professionals (EITs/Graduate Engineers)
  • Work within a collaborative team that promotes and fosters excellent communication, inter-departmental interaction, and respect for all project team members

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering
  • 4-8 years of relevant experience
  • Minnesota PE license in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering (or ability to attain within 6 months)
  • Proficient in basic elements of hydraulics design and hydrology, preferably with some advanced design experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Bentley MicroStation, GEOPAK, and/or Autodesk Civil 3D
  • Proficient ability using OpenRoads Designer
  • Experience with hydrologic & hydraulic modeling (HydroCAD, HEC-RAS, XP-SWMM)
  • Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards

Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Work is primarily performed in an office environment
  • Ability to occasionally move equipment/objects weighing up to 10 pounds
