Job Description
General Civil Focused
  • Assist with plan specifications and estimates as well as documenting construction activities.
  • Assist with AutoCAD Civil 3D drawings and update redlines with various project set drawings.
  • Operate electronic survey instruments such as GPS and Total Station.
  • Perform work in a variety of software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, SWMM, ArcGIS, etc.
  • Potential observation and data collection at different types of project sites.
  • Assist with research, development and design of projects.
  • May include onsite construction observation duties during the construction phase of projects

Transportation Focused
  • Receive mentorship and guidance from senior level Civil Engineers through a variety of civil engineering projects.
  • Perform redlines on project drawings, pull technical reports and complete quantity calculations and assist with project cost estimates.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with project teams such as CAD designers, engineers, subcontractors to complete projects safely, on time, and with high quality.
  • Assist in client contact and communications.
  • May include onsite construction observation duties during the construction phase of projects.

Water Resources Focused
  • Effectively use AutoCAD Civil 3D to design various project features and ArcGIS for watershed planning.
  • Prepare design computations and quantity estimates under the supervision of a licensed engineer.
  • Assist in preparation of reports, specifications, plan creation, and permit applications.
  • Perform work in a variety of software such as HEC-RAS, MicroStation, AutoCAD, SWMM, ArcGIS, etc.
  • Interface with CAD and GIS designers and coordinate with other engineering departments on complex multi-discipline projects.
  • Assist in client contact and communications.
  • May include onsite construction observation and other field work duties including surveying, stream assessments, and wetland delineations.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Biosystems Engineering, or Agricultural Engineering.
  • 0-4 years of experience in Civil Engineering
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Superior problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Solid critical thinking skills, along with attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude under pressure, strong team player, responsible, and self-motivated.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States permanently without the requirement of sponsorship at any point in the future. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Valid Driver's License and in good standing with periodic travel necessary
