Job Title: Production Line Lead
Location: Gainesville, GA
Department: Packout RTE
Reports To: Production Supervisor
Direct Reports: Production Supervisor
Travel: None
Normal Work Schedule: The typical working hours are 4:15pm to end of shift with a 30-minute lunch.

Job Summary
The Line Leader is the first line supervisor of production line workers. They are responsible for the routine communication of job assignments, training for specific product runs, and placement of Line Workers in assignments as required for the day.
Qualifications
    • Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculation.
    • Able to participate in a team-oriented environment, willingness to assist and train others.
    • Demonstrate safe behavior and support department/plant safety goals in a continuous improvement process.
    • Able to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends before and after schedule as needed.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Ensure all employees abide by the safety regulations.
    • Responsible for keeping the line clean of any debris at all times.
    • Monitor line set up.
    • Assign work to Line Workers
    • Work with New Hire Trainer to train Line Workers on the procedure to produce products.
    • Contact Indirect Labor Material Handler to bring additional components for production line as needed.
    • Verify specifications against ingredients and labels are correct.
    • Instruct Material Handler to move product when production is completed.
    • Product overview - Verify weight and piece count meet specification.
    • Escalate production issues to Supervisor as needed.
    • Perform quality checks of the line.
    • Perform other duties as needed or assigned.

    Work Environment
  • This position requires working on the production floor in a cold environment with an average temperature of 40°F. The employee will be exposed to moderate noise levels, fast-paced operations, moving machinery, wet and dry areas, and must always wear personal protective equipment (PPE). The role requires interaction with employees, contractors, and supervisors in a dynamic manufacturing setting.
  • Physical Demands
  • The role requires standing and walking for extended periods, often over eight hours per shift. The employee must be able to use hands, fingers, arms, and reach as part of daily tasks. The position involves lifting and moving up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Visual requirements include the ability to see up close, at a distance, and to adjust focus. Repetitive movement, bending, twisting, and climbing may be required.
