Responsibilities
H-E-B Digital is transforming how customers discover, shop for, and receive food through innovative digital experiences. From Curbside and Home Delivery to next-generation supply chain capabilities, our teams build scalable, modern solutions that impact millions of customers and over 160,000 Partners.
The Digital Technology Warehouse Management & Fulfillment Systems Team is responsible for modernizing H-E-B's warehouse and fulfillment technology ecosystem by implementing, supporting, and enhancing Manhattan Associates Warehouse Management solutions and integrated automation platforms across H-E-B's extensive network of distribution centers and eCommerce fulfillment facilities. Due to the scale and scope of our supply chain modernization efforts, we are hiring a Senior Systems Developer.
What You'll Do
Warehouse Management Systems & Technology
  • Configure, enhance, maintain, test, and support enterprise Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and related fulfillment applications
  • Serve as a technical and functional consultant for Manhattan Associates Warehouse Management solutions
  • Support implementation, upgrades, stabilization, and production support activities for warehouse and fulfillment platforms
  • Design, develop, and maintain system integrations between custom-developed applications and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) platforms
  • Support automated fulfillment technologies, warehouse automation systems, and material handling equipment (MHE) integrations
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions

Development & Integration
  • Develop custom applications, extensions, and integrations to support warehouse operations
  • Design and implement APIs, data exchanges, and integration solutions across enterprise applications
  • Support database development, reporting, data modeling, and SQL optimization efforts
  • Build and maintain automated monitoring, alerting, and system management solutions
  • Create technical documentation, testing plans, and training materials

Architecture & Delivery
  • Participate in or lead solution design, technical architecture, and implementation planning
  • Evaluate technical alternatives and recommend solutions based on business needs, scalability, and supportability
  • Identify technical risks, dependencies, and integration impacts across systems
  • Support System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and production deployment activities
  • Assist with technology sustainment planning and platform roadmaps

Leadership & Collaboration (Senior, Lead, Staff)
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior developers
  • Lead technical discussions with business stakeholders, vendors, operations teams, and cross-functional technology partners
  • Influence technical roadmaps and architectural decisions
  • Drive adoption of industry best practices, standards, and emerging technologies
  • Contribute to attracting, developing, and retaining technical talent

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience
  • Experience configuring, enhancing, supporting, and maintaining enterprise COTS or SaaS applications
  • Experience working with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
  • Knowledge of systems integration, software development lifecycle (SDLC), and enterprise application architecture
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Understanding of technical sustainment, application support, and production operations
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ownership mindset and track record of delivering high-quality results
