Job description

Title: Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently to complete various construction and infrastructure projects. The Heavy Equipment Operator will be responsible for operating machines such as excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, and other heavy machinery. They will work closely with the project manager, engineers, and laborers to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining safety standards.

Responsibilities:

1. Operate heavy equipment, including but not limited to excavators, bulldozers, loaders, graders, cranes, and rollers, according to established safety guidelines and procedures.

2. Safely and efficiently load, unload, and move materials, soil, or debris using heavy machinery.

3. Conduct routine equipment inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and address any potential safety hazards.

4. Complete daily logs, reports, and documentation accurately and timely.

5. Follow project instructions, blueprints, specifications, and GPS to perform tasks, such as digging trenches, grading land, or demolishing structures.

6. Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other workers to effectively execute project plans and meet deadlines.

7. Comply with all safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

8. Conduct pre-operational checks and maintenance on equipment to ensure they are ready for use.

9. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and report any issues or incidents to the supervisor promptly.

10. Perform other job-related tasks and duties as assigned (Grease, Fuel and Wash equipment)

Requirements:

1. Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Operator, preferably in construction or a similar industry.

2. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

3. Extensive knowledge of operating heavy machinery with precision and accuracy while adhering to safety regulations.

4. Solid understanding of construction and infrastructure projects, including excavation, grading, and site preparation.

5. Proficient in inspecting, maintaining, and repairing heavy equipment.

6. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow project plans specifications. Experience with GPS and grade control system is a plus.

7. Physical stamina and agility to operate heavy machinery for extended periods in varying weather conditions. Must be able to lift and carry heavy objects and materials.

8. Excellent hand-eye coordination and depth perception. communication skills.

9. Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues.

10. Ability to troubleshoot operational issues and perform minor repairs.
